Dental Practices for Sale in Australia

General and specialist dental practices are presented as de-identified briefs describing chair numbers, clinical profile, catchment type and the principal's role. That is usually enough to decide whether a practice suits you before confidential financial and patient information is released.

How Opportunities Are Presented

Each brief shows the information a buyer sees before confidential details are released.

Comparing opportunities

What Buyers Compare in This Practice Type

Two businesses with similar revenue can be worth very different amounts. These are the points worth establishing before you shortlist.

Revenue by Clinician

The share produced by the principal against each associate, which determines how much of the earnings depend on the seller staying or being replaced.

Associate Arrangements

Length of service, remuneration percentages, engagement terms and restraints for each associate.

Treatment Mix

Whether implant, orthodontic, endodontic or surgical work depends on a specific clinician's skills, or is transferable.

Surgeries and Utilisation

Chair count against chairs actually in use, and whether an additional clinician could be added without capital works.

Equipment and Future Capital

Equipment age, imaging, sterilisation and any plumbed items, which indicate what you will need to spend after settlement.

Premises and Lease

Dental fit-out is expensive and largely immovable, so remaining term, options and assignment provisions matter more than in most businesses.

Buyer questions

Questions Buyers Ask Before Enquiring

How much detail do I get before signing anything?

Enough to assess fit: chair numbers, catchment type, clinical profile, the principal's role and an indicative earnings level. Identifying and detailed financial information may be released later in the process, subject to the seller's instructions and any confidentiality requirements.

Are associate-owned or partnership interests included?

Partial interests and buy-in opportunities are handled the same way as whole-practice sales, with the structure described in the brief.

What should I have ready as a buyer?

Your funding position, the clinical work you intend to do personally, the locations you will consider, and your timeframe. Revenue by clinician is often useful when assessing principal dependence, and may also be requested by a buyer's lender or advisers.
